Taipei thrills as All England champions fall

The quarter-finals of the Yonex BWF World Championships saw two 2011 All England champions crashed out in the day: Chinese Taipei's Cheng Shao Chieh took out Wang Shixian while Indonesia's Mohammad Ahsan and Bona Septano sent Denmark's Carsten Mogensen and Mathias Boe home.

今天的八強賽中, 有兩個今年全英公開賽的冠軍倒下, 一個是女單冠軍, 一個是男雙
冠軍.

The effervescent Cheng (pictured right), an ex-world junior champion and a bronze medallist at the senior worlds in 2005, turned in a high-class display to dispose of the tournament favourite 21-16 21-17.

鄭韶婕(見右圖)曾經拿過世青盃冠軍及2005年世錦賽銅牌, 這次是以直落二淘汰王適嫻.

The writing may have been on the wall from the first exchanges when Cheng raced into a 4-0 lead. Wang pulled back at 10-10 only for her opponent to edge away to 18-12 before clinching the game.

結果似乎一開始註定了, 鄭韶婕以 4-0 打出個良好的開局, 雖然王適嫻一度追平10-10, 但是鄭韶婕的接連發揮, 很快就把比分拉開成為18-12, 接著拿下第一局.

Honours were even at 7-7 in the next when a tiring Wang was yellow-carded for taking too long towelling some sweat away.

當比分在第二局打成7-7平手時, 王適嫻接到一張黃牌警告, 因為她擦汗時間過久.

From 11-11 Cheng turned on the screws with a series of fine winners, accompanied each time by a scream and trademark punch of the air with her
left arm.

Resplendent afterwards in her cropped, dyed blonde hair, the 25-year-old looked something of a fashion statement, enhanced by an arm tattoo bearing
her name, necklace and white watch.

25歲的她染著一頭金髮,手臂上還有刺青, 戴著項鍊及白色手錶, 顯示她的時尚品味.

Cheng, who won bronze in the worlds six years ago, told media: "Maybe I'm stronger and more mature now."

鄭在受訪時表示談到她六年前贏得銅牌的事時, "或許我現在比當時更強, 更成熟".

She said she had not overly concerned herself about the prospect of facing the top seed.
她也談到, 即使要面對頭號種子, 她也不會太擔心.

"I don't think too much before a match. I don't like to give myself too much pressure in that way."

"在比賽前, 我不會想太多. 我不喜歡把太多壓力背在自己身上."

Disappointed Wang said: "I need to go back and study her previous games more and maybe come back with a bit better idea of my tactics against her."
失望的王適嫻說,"我必須回去, 再更仔細研究她的比賽, 或許可以找出一套對付她更好
的戰術."

　現在則把丹麥的鮑依/摩根森一起拉進來, 而且把王適嫻的國籍給完全抹去了, 因為第二段以後幾乎完全沒有更動, 所以她成為無國籍之人.
