Angga, Ryan set sights on Olympics
The Jakarta Post | Fri, 06/24/2011 7:00 AMAmid the gloomy prospects for the country’s badminton men’s singles, Indonesia’s men’s doubles looks promising, partly because of the impressive performance of young pair Angga Pratama and Rian Agung Saputra.
The pair have wasted no time proving that they are able to challenge the world, with the 2012 London Olympics their target.
Twenty-one-year-old Rian and 20-year-old Angga began the qualifying stage of the Indonesia Open Super Series Premier by shocking world number three Jung Jae-sung and Lee Yong-dae from South Korea, the winners of the Korean Open Super Series Premier this January.
雖然印尼的男單前景黯淡, 但是男雙的未來卻是一片光明, 部份是因為安嘉(Angga Pratama)及黎安(Rian Agung Saputra)昨天亮眼的表現, 他們以直落二擊敗世界排名第三的韓國選手--李龍大及鄭在成.
黎安今年21歲,, 安喜才20歲, 他們從印尼公開賽的資格賽一路打上來, 擊敗近半來年曾經5次剋制中國"風雲"組合的"成龍"組合.
雖然黎安/安嘉目前的世界排名才只是35名, 不過他們近期也打進印度超級系列公開賽的決賽, 即使沒有太多的高手參加.

Ranked 35 in the world, the emerging Indonesian duo, who were also finalists at the recent India Open Super Series, straightforwardly ruined the Koreans 21-17, 21-17 in the second round of the US$600,000 badminton competition on Thursday.
Their triumph ensured a ticket to the quarterfinals on Friday against Chai Biao and Guo Zhengdong of China.
“Today we played good. Tomorrow we must play better. We will stay focused and maintain [a positive] mentality and fitness for the next matches,” Rian said.
黎安說, "今天我們打得不錯, 明天必須打得更好, 必須集中精神, 維持正面的想法及良好的體能來迎接下一場比賽."
“It is a good thing that Angga and Rian can fully developed their offensive throughout the match just now. I see that the Koreans, especially Yong-dae , appeared pressured and unable to play their best game,” said Herry IP, the national men’s doubles coach.
印尼國家隊男雙教練 Herry IP 說, "安嘉及黎安在剛剛結束的那場比賽裡充分發揮他們的攻擊能力, 我注意到韓國隊, 特別是李龍大顯得有點侷促, 無法發揮他們最佳的實力."
“This year, there are 22 tournaments already listed on our agenda to collect Olympics points,” said Rian, who expressed the pair’s determination to qualify for next year’s Olympics. He has had a partnership with Angga since 2009.
黎安及安嘉是在2009年開始搭檔打男雙. 他說, "今年我們計劃參加22個賽事來爭取奧運積分," 顯示他們爭取參加明年倫敦奧運的決心. 目前他們是印尼第四男雙組合, 位於基多/塞提阿萬[7], 阿爾文/H.古納萬[8]及阿山/波拿(塞普塔諾)[10]之下.(括弧內數字為世界排行名次). 不過就在短短一年的時間, 黎安/安喜的世界排名從第179名躍升第35名.
At the national level, Angga and Rian rank fourth, below world number seven pair Markis and Hendra, world number eight pair Alvent Hendra AG and world number 10 pair Ahsan and Bona.
The pair have been rocketing in the Badminton World Federation rankings in the past year: from 179 in April of last year to 35 this month.
Herry IP acknowledged that the young pair had the likeliest chance to become the next Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan one day. “I have joined the national camp the past four months. I hope to see them among the world ranked players within the next two years.”

Olympic champions Kido and Setiawan were also through to the quarterfinals.
Optimistic that Angga and Rian would be ready for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Herry said the pair would need some time to close ranks with their seniors M Ahsan and Bona Septano, Alvent Yulianto and Hendra AG, as well as Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan.
安嘉/黎安可能成為印尼參加2016年里約奧運的代表, 不過教練也認為他們也需要一些時間才能追上其他三組男雙.
“If within this short period of time they can steadily improve their performance, [the 2012 Olympics] is not impossible,” said Herry, citing his plan to send the young pair to as many Super Series and Grand Prix level tournaments for Olympics points.
教練說, "如果他們能在短時間裡, 穩定他們的表現, 明年奧運也不是不可能," 所以他計劃送他們去多多參加超級系列賽及大獎賽級的國際比賽來爭取奧運積分.
